<div>We are reaching out today with heavy hearts but with steadfast determination, as we navigate an unthinkable path that no parent should ever have to walk. Our beautiful niece, Poppy, has recently been diagnosed with Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T), a rare genetic disease that threatens her future; causes loss of muscle control and balance, high risk for cancer, lung disease and involves severe immune deficiencies in children and young adults, shortening their lives. This journey has been filled with uncertainty, tears, and fear, but it has also ignited a fire within us to ensure Poppy has the love and support she deserves.

<div><strong>A Fight from the Very Beginning:</strong>

<div>Poppy’s medical challenges began just a week after her birth when tests revealed low TREC levels, sending her parents down a path of doctor visits, blood tests, and genetic testing. Initially, they were ecstatic to hear that everything was clear, but their hopes were quickly dashed when results from further testing unveiled the devastating diagnosis of A-T.

<div>Poppy’s parents, Kyle and Sam, have been pillars of strength; however, the weight of medical bills and the requirement for specialized care has necessitated both of them to surrender to the power of crowd-funding. Unfortunately, Poppy cannot attend daycare due to her weakened immune system, leaving her without a safe environment to socialize and grow among other kids.
