Help for Pono

**Due to the personal nature of this issue we would appreciate if this did not get shared on social media. It is intended for close family and friends. Thank you.**
Aloha family and friends,
We’ve found ourselves in an unfortunate situation and are humbly asking for your help.
Ponomaikai Akiona-Ferriman [son of Pumehana Ho (Galen) and Phillip Ferriman (Don)] is in the middle of an unwanted and very unnecessary custody battle.
Ponomaikai (Pono) has done his best to co-parent his children (Kaahupahau and Kahiuka) alongside their mother. He understands what is best for them and has shown that he wants the children to grow up with both parents. Unfortunately since their split three years ago, she has had a difficult time separating her personal feelings from the importance of her children’s welfare.
A lot has happened in the last three years and despite their agreement to share physical custody, the children have been held from Pono on several occasions. As of today, he hasn’t been allowed to see his children for three weeks. Because of all that is happening, the court has expedited his custody court case. He has hired a lawyer to ensure the best chance for him and his children.
As you know representation is costly and for a good, single father is another expense he really can’t afford and shouldn’t have to bear. A family member has graciously co-signed for him to get a loan to start paying for the lawyer.
If you can, we are asking for your help to ease this financial burden for Pono as he is already bearing enough emotionally.
Thank you,
Pomaikai Akiona
