Help Polar Bear victim family heal

Donation protected
Hi, we are Kyle, Amber and Denis. We are based in Iqaluit, Nunavut. We are asking for your help on behalf of a family that is recovering from a fatal polar bear attack.

Backstory

On July 03, 2018, Aaron Gibbons, aged thirty-one, was enjoying a day out on the land with his family just outside the community of Arviat, Nunavut when a polar bear charged towards one of his three children. Gibbons immediately told his children to run back to the boat and put himself between them and the bear to protect them. He lost his life, but thanks to his bravery all his children survived.

Gibbons has been described by his community as a devoted father who spent a lot of time with his children; and a good hunter who provided for his family—including his parents who depended on him for country food.

The whole community of Arviat is hurting following the unfortunate incidence but above all, his children, ages 5, 10 and 12 are the most directly impacted.

Why we need your help
Aaron died protecting his children, your kind donation will support his parents to provide the counselling, food and care that they need.

We thank you so much for your generosity.
