<div>Hi, my name is Kaley, Poconut is one of my two sweet cats. I’m seeking help today from anyone willing and able to. This morning my family and I woke up to trails of blood and urine all through the house with a very sad and scared Poconut. Poconut also happens to be deaf, so trips to the vet are extra hard and scary for him because he cannot be soothed like most other pets can be.

<div>His illness seemed to have developed overnight, it happened so fast and we were clearly unprepared for this. Hoping that it was just a UTI we tried to get ahold of our vet, but unfortunately ours is closed on Sundays. After taking him to the emergency vet, we found that he required surgery, a catheter and overnight stay with some hefty medications and surveillance.

<div>With our family being in a very tough situation financially due to our air conditioner that has broken in the beginning of the summer and a skyrocketing credit card balance due to the necessary replacement costs, I’ve had to take it out on a new credit card and now am in a bind because I’m starting teachers college in the fall.

<div>I was unfortunately put in the tough spot of either letting poor 6 year old Poconut die or forfeiting school and being in debt. We have been given an estimate of four thousand (I’ve included a picture of the cost breakdown) for the procedure and are all hoping for that number not to change, but with the costs of a new diet and potentially needing more nights at the vet I’m just asking for any contributions you are able or willing to make so that we can make it through this financially stable and with our favourite ball of fur (don’t tell our second cat pistachio we said that!) ❤️
