Help pHreddy Heal

Back in June, Phreddy suffered a severe stroke. While Phreddy is working hard in physical rehabilitation at a skilled nursing facility, this campaign has been created to help relieve some of the financial pressures of the initial hospital visit, co-payments for follow up care, in-patient rehab, medical equipment, prescriptions, and any further surgeries he may need. This also includes taking care of any other financial issues that may arise for Phreddy while he is out of work and in recovery (ie phone, utilities and other bills related to his regular expenses.) Phreddy's home may need repairs or modifications to accommodate him based on his physical ability when he is discharged from his assisted living stay.

The stroke seems to have targeted a part of his brain that effects his motor skills, speech and larger comprehension. Phreddy spent a little over a month in the hospital following the stroke, and was initially discharged on July 19th. After a brief stay at home, he was back in the hospital about a week later for a follow up procedure and ended up being admitted for another week. Phreddy was discharged from the hospital the second time on August 3rd and this time sent to Valley Palms Care Center, a skilled nursing facility where he can receive 24 hour care.

While Phreddy has made a large improvement from his weakest point after the stroke, he still has a ways to go in speech therapy as well as physical rehabilitation to walk unassisted. Money will be withdrawn by Phreddy's chosen medical advocate, Homer Tom, on an as needed basis as hospital bills, other related medical expenses, as well as aforementioned personal expenses such as utilities are received.
