Help Phil study game development at University

Hi, I'm Phil, and I've been accepted to study Computer Game Design and Development at Cardiff Met University. I've also found out that I'm not eligible for student finance and will have to pay the £9k per year tuition fees myself. That's why I'm asking for your help.

I will no longer be in my current job very soon as a result of developments there that have affected my mental health and my ability to balance that role with being a carer for my wife. As such, there is no better time for me to make a change.

Video games have been a special interest of mine for a long time, especially survival horror games like Resident Evil and stories with strong narratives like The Last of Us. That is why these franchises are the foundation of what I do as a content creator on YouTube. Through that, I've been getting increasingly interested in the process of actually making games, to the point where I now know that it's something I want to do and pursue more fully.

By conventional wisdom, thirty-seven years old might be too late to figure out what you want to do with your life. But now that I know, I want to pursue it.

Anyone who's said, "if you don't like your job, get a new one", has either been ignorant of what it costs to do that or been in a privileged position where those costs are no barrier. But why should I let that stop me? Why shouldn't I do whatever it takes to pursue something I'm genuinely interested in and which inspires me rather than grinds me down? So that's what I'm doing.
