Hi everyone, my name is Tasha, and I started a Go Fund Me for my husband Pete Stevenson earlier this year, who is still currently courageously battling cancer. He received this diagnosis in November 2022. The journey has been quite up-and-down, he has gone through six rounds of chemotherapy along with 26 rounds of radiation. At different points in the journey, we surely thought and hoped his cancer was gone. Recently we have received the news that he has five new additional nodules in his lungs and needs to start treatment again ASAP to halt this cancer from continuing to grow and spread. In addition to the conventional treatments, he will be receiving, he will also be needing to go to other clinics, in other parts of the country that are not covered by insurance. These clinics are very expensive and due to the quickly accruing costs for his continued care to fight and overcome this battle with cancer we are reaching out again to ask for financial support.
In addition to the high costs of these centers, we also both have to greatly reduce our workload in order to support him to get these treatments, and we will need to pay for living closer to the center in Denver where he is getting treatment as to be in closer proximity to the hospital. I will need to be his 24 hour a day caregiver for a minimum of 30 days in the upcoming months and have to adjust my work schedule as such. Pete will also not be able to continue to work during parts of his treatments coming up over the next several months.
When Pete was diagnosed with cancer, the support and care we experienced from our family, friends and community was absolutely incredible. I think it’s the only thing that helped me get through those stages. I deeply want Pete to be able to continue to receive the treatments he needs, of all types, but we need more help at this point, so I am humbly reaching out again, to see what miracles are possible. I don’t want cost to be a barrier to him living a long full life… If you can find it in your hearts, and in your means to donate to this cause, we would forever be oh, so grateful. If you cannot afford to donate, of course we understand. It would be helpful to his cause to like, share and comment on the post so that it gets as much of his visibility as possible.
Thank you so much for considering, thanks for everything you all have already done, you will never know what it means to us.
With much love and appreciation,
Tasha
