Help Perla Go to Mills College

This fundraising campaign is designed to support Perla Barraza attend Mills College, a prestigious liberal arts college for women in Oakland, CA that provides strong support for undocumented students, for single mothers, and for students over 25 years of age.

Perla is DACAmented; this means that she is allowed to work and live in the United States, but she is not eligible for Arizona’s instate tuition or for financial aid. Gratefully, Mills has awarded Perla with both the Dean’s Scholarship and a private grant. Along with these two scholarships, Perla has been awarded the Dream Summer Fellowship. Thanks to Perla’s intelligence, potential, and passion for the arts she has been able to raise a substantial portion of the funds needed to attend Mills College. However, she must raise additional funds to make this dream a reality.

Perla and her daughter, Emma, will be relocating to Oakland. We ask that you help us support Perla and her attendance to Mills by donating to Perla’s Go Fund Me campaign. Your donation will help cover the rest of her tuition, her living expenses as a single mother, and her moving expenses.

Perla plans to attend Mills College this fall to study theater and ethnic studies. Perla is an incredibly talented actress, scholar, and visionary who wants to make culturally relevant art accessible to people in her community.
