Help Pepo's Fruit Stand Provide Fresh Produce

My name is Keith Strenger. Two years ago I opened up Pepo Melo, a vegan restaurant that offers a fresh, quick, and healthy way to satisfy your cravings in The Claremont Village.
This village, filled with small and local businesses, depends on foot traffic to keep day to day operations successful. As the covid-19 pandemic grew increasingly worse, small businesses in The Claremont Village began to struggle, along with millions nationwide. I wanted to not only help my struggling restaurant survive but also create more foot traffic for the village as a whole. I wanted to provide people with an assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables at an affordable price. This is when Pepo’s Fruit Stand was born. With nothing more than 4 large tables and a rented SUV, we were selling fresh fruits and vegetables the very next day.
The response to Pepo’s Fruit Stand was overwhelming. The local community was grateful for the fairly priced and convenient produce we were now offering. This was not only a “feel good” business moment, but it was also when I realized how much I could positively impact my local community in a time of need.
I am eager to make Pepo’s Fruit Stand a permanent small business in The Claremont Village. We would be a 7 day a week fresh produce store that is affordable for everyone, while specifically focusing on the local community. A section of the store will be focused solely on ‘locally grown’ to support smaller farmers that are close to home. Delivery will be free to seniors in the city of Claremont. Produce will also be free to those in need.
Unfortunately, the cost of opening a fresh produce business, with proper refrigeration and displays is beyond my budget, especially with the city’s required permitting and needed construction upgrades. This is why I am reaching out by way of a gofundme. Any amount that you could donate would be putting us one step closer to a permanent Pepo’s Fruit Stand.
