Help people affected by California wildfires
At some point in their lives, everyone is asked to contribute to a cause, whether for a high school trip or as part of a campaign. Our motivation behind this fundraiser are the wildfires in Northern California that have claimed nearly three times as many lives and structures than any other wildfire in the state’s history. Authorities have confirmed 81 deaths, with 13,503 residences, 514 businesses and 4,404 barns, sheds, and other buildings burned in the blaze. The total of 18,421 structures is more than three times the toll from last fall's Tubbs Fire in Napa and Sonoma.
We are 4 international students who currently live in California, and after coming across the images that we posted in this campaign, we did not hesitate to search for a way to help those affected. We considered 5 dollars a fair amount to contribute, but if you are in a position to donate more, please be generous and kind and it will make much more of a difference!
The money collected through the GoFundMe platform is directly transferred to the American Red Cross with the purpose of supporting the recovery from the wildfires. This process takes time and a diverse network of organizations and services to make sure people have the help they need.
We encourage you to help the people who are in need right now! Every donation will help us achieve our goal! Thank you very much for being the change you want to see in the world!
