Hi, My name is Penelope and I'm a 3 year old German Shepherd and weigh around 70lbs ( my foster mom calls me P22 because I look like LA's famous mountain lion ). I'm house broken and very demure.

My current foster whom I followed home and who has been taking care of me for the last several weeks, isn't able to care for me anymore, which is sad. But someone else wants to give me a home.

Unfortunately, he lives far away and I need to travel to him from CA to Baltimore which is pretty expensive.

Please help me get there. I'm a great girl who knows her commands and who had a home before. I would love to celebrate the holiday season with my new dad.

This is my story written by my foster mom:

A few weeks ago I posted this found dog looking for her owners. She followed me home form the park and into my house. I kept her for 1 week looking for owners and when no one came forward I brought her to the Bakersfield Animal Care Center shelter on Mount Vernon, thinking networking would help her owners find her.

Yesterday I found out she was on the Euthanasia list due to no interest. The Bakersfield shelter has had a computer glitch since Nov 7 making dogs not listed or searchable. So, I have her in my home again until next Tuesday and my FB friends are sharing her madly across the country to save her life. I am sure she has a local owner, because of how well trained an dwell mannered she is.
