<div>Hello! We are a group of business students at Wichita State working on a community service project. For our project, we chose to support local youth within USD 259 by raising funds to pay off past due lunch balances for students. Over 3,000 students in USD 259 are impacted by substantial lunch debt, placing additional stress on families already facing financial challenges. We were moved to take action after learning how many children in our community are affected by unpaid meal debts, and we want to help relieve this burden for both students and their families.

<div> When students have outstanding lunch balances, it can create stress and uncertainty at home and in the classroom. Families may worry about how to cover these costs, and kids may find it hard to focus on learning when they're concerned about their next meal. By coming together to pay off these balances, we hope to give every student the chance to thrive in school without the added worry of unpaid lunches.
