Earlier this year, Katie, a permanently disabled 35 year old queer woman who is unable to walk unassisted, was diagnosed with cancer in the ER when she went in about a large growth which turned out to be a malignant tumor. She is uninsured, and we are unable to pay the bills on our own, as we already live mostly paycheck to paycheck.
So far we have one bill from the ER itself for $1500, less if we pay quickly, apparently, and the estimates for the surgery she has already undertaken run as high as $7,000. On top of that there are still more steps to be taken including more scans, appointments, and possibly even chemotherapy.
It's difficult to ask for money like this, especially in such a large amount, an amount that may have to be increased over time as bills continue to stack up, at that.
Katie is an entertainer and a musician, and streams on twitch every Friday on our family's channel. Please share this fundraiser, and if you're able, give generously. This is a very scary time for us.
