In Loving Memory of Paul Bell

Donation protected
We have had a lot of messages asking about visitation and funeral.

There will be no visitation but there will be a celebration of life in August. Once everything has been finalized the information will be shared.

Thank you from all of us for your continued love, and messages of support ❤️

For those of you following Paul's accident the family would like to provide you with an update.

Last night Paul succumbed to his injuries and passed away. He was not alone when he passed his wife Nadine was by his side. The family would like to thank our friends, family and the community for their continued love and support. We have been overwhelmed with everyone that sent positive vibes, kept Paul in their prayers, shared our go fund me page and donated to help with his treatment. We would like everyone to know that the the funds raised will be used towards his funeral expenses. In addition we would like to thank all the first responders for the loving care they provided; Guelph police, Guelph paramedics, Guelph General ER staff, Julie (social worker from the ER) and the amazing medical team that cared for Paul in the ICU. We cannot thank you enough for all your support during this difficult time. We do ask that you give the family sometime to grieve before reaching out individually via calls and text messages. Thank you again we love you all ❤

Yesterday morning my uncle was hit by a car while crossing the road in his wheelchair.

Paul Bell is a loving husband and well known and respected member of the community. He was a nurse a St. Joe's for many years, he was a member of the Guelph Little Theater and most memorably he is Santa Clause.

Paul went in for emergency surgery last night to repair multiple broken bones. He broke his hip, femur, tibia and fibula and rods were placed from thigh to knee and knee to ankle. He will be in ICU for a couple of days on life support and they are keeping him sedated to help with the pain. Doctors say the surgery went well but he will have a long recovery ahead of him.

Due to the fact that Paul was a pedestrian he doesnt have any insurance. Insurance that would normally help replace his medical devices or assist with additional costs associated to recovery.

In order to complete his rehab he will require a new electronic wheelchair. He will also need to replace his custom made shoes as they were damaged in the accident. These shoes are essential to his rehab as he cannot walk without them, they support his leg braces. In addition my aunt will be missing time from work and driving back and forth to the hospital/rehab center.

Many of you have asked how you can help. Any donation would be greatly appreciated and would go a long way towards his recovery.

Thank you for all your prayers and positive vibes ❤
