Paul Genzale is a Staff Sergeant with the United States Marine Corps.
Due to Hurricane Florence his home in Havelock, North Carolina sustained two feet of flood water and needs extensive restoration.
Paul is being deployed in October will leave his fiancé and several dogs with a damaged home they cannot live in for several months. Due to being deployed he is unable to oversee or handle the restoration to his home leaving his wife alone to address all of the repairs.
The home requires new drywall, insulation, paint, electrical, HVAC, flooring, kitchen cabinets and appliances, which will cost tens of thousands of dollars and will take several months to complete.
During this time Paul will be thousands of miles away and paying a mortgage for a home his family cannot live in.
All of the costs will be out of pocket as insurance is not covering any of the damages and he will need to wait weeks or months for FEMA to provide any assistance.
