<div>Please Help Us Bring Paul Home ❤️

We never imagined we would have to come back and ask for help again, but unfortunately, we now need your support more than ever.

When we first set up this fundraiser, our main priority was helping Paul’s family get to Gran Canaria to be by his side while he underwent emergency treatment. Since then, the situation has changed, and we are now facing another huge and unexpected challenge — getting Paul home to the UK.

Paul remains in hospital in Gran Canaria and, at the moment, he is not awake and is unable to communicate with us. Because of this, we don’t know whether Paul has travel insurance that may be able to help with his repatriation.

We have been advised by the hospital that arranging his return to the UK could potentially take weeks or even months, depending on the arrangements and the care Paul needs.

Paul’s GHIC is covering his medical treatment, but getting him safely home is a separate matter.

We have now received a quotation for a specialist medical air ambulance to bring Paul from Gran Canaria back to the UK. The quotation is £41,999 for a complete bed-to-bed transfer, including the medical aircraft, specialist medical team, equipment, road ambulances and arrangements for his admission to hospital in the UK.

£41,999 is an enormous amount of money, and we know it is a huge ask. We are still trying to establish whether insurance may be available, but because Paul is unable to tell us what cover he has, we simply don’t know at this stage.

We are therefore asking for your help once again.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help us towards the cost of bringing Paul home. We understand that not everyone is in a position to donate, and we genuinely don’t expect anyone to give more than they can afford. Even sharing this fundraiser with others could make a huge difference to Paul and his family.

We hate having to ask for help, but right now we don’t have the luxury of worrying about how it looks or feeling embarrassed about asking. We just want to get Paul home.

Our family wants nothing more than to have Paul back in the UK, surrounded by the people who love him, while he continues his recovery and receives the care he needs.
