Help Patty Keen Lindsey fight AML

As some of you may know my Aunt, Patty Keen Lindsey, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia this past June. AML is a very rare and aggressive cancer. The sub type that she has is even more rare and scary. She did not have the best statistics in getting to the "consolidation phase" BUT as of today, she has overcome a huge mountain and has made it to the consolidation phase (cancer is less than 5%).  Starting Monday, August 27th, the treatment plan is to begin outpatient chemo for 8-14 weeks. Patty will have to stay in a hotel or an apartment next to the hospital for 100 days during the bone marrow transplant process, and she will be required to have 24hr care.

Here is why we need YOUR help...Patty's insurance will not cover the bone marrow transplant or the coding to find a match. ALL of that will be out of pocket, on top of a 100 day hotel stay and zero current income. Patty's husband, Gordon, has been out of work since June, because she has been hospitalized in critical care for over 60 days.  Gordon and her 2 daughters, Jessica and Elizabeth, have all traveled back and forth to Vanderbilt to stay with and care for Patty.  It has been tough emotionally, physically and financially.

We know this is a huge goal to meet in 2 months, but in 8 weeks Patty will undergo a surgery that is her only chance of survival. When you're fighting for your life, you shouldn't have to worry or feel the financial burden. Lets help her fight and beat AML.
