My name is Patricia, and I’m reaching out for support during a difficult time. Earlier this year, I helped my daughter Kendall by renting an apartment in my name after she struggled with an eviction and unemployment. I paid the security deposit and first month’s rent, and have continued to cover the rent each month since. I had planned to move in myself around August, but recently lost my job and now find myself unable to pay the rent. This situation has put a strain on my relationship with Kendall, and I’m facing the possibility of losing my home.

 I am a recovering alcoholic, six years sober, and have worked hard to rebuild my life and my relationship with my daughter. Unfortunately, the stress of our current situation has brought back old patterns of conflict and hurt. On top of this, I am living with tardive dyskinesia and bipolar 1, which makes finding new work even more challenging. Despite a solid work history, I’ve been walking miles to interviews, but employers are hesitant to hire me due to my health conditions. My goal is to stay in my current apartment for a few more months, give proper notice, and then relocate to Duncanville, where my previous job is waiting for me. Having a safe and stable home for myself and my cat, Minnie, is essential as I work toward regaining stability.
