<div>You may have heard that Peterborough Action for Tiny Homes (PATH) received unfortunate news this past August 23, 2024: our city council voted against a temporary re-zoning proposal that would have allowed expansion of transitional housing and wrap-around services for 24 people experiencing homelessness.

<div>The appeal to the OLT is our chance to have the decision reviewed and, hopefully, overturned. We’re asking for your help to raise the legal expenses, which we want to keep separate from PATH’s ongoing operational costs for the cabin community and supportive programs.

<div>We are fortunate to have an almost pro bono lawyer. However, legal fees in the range of $10,000 will be needed. PATH had fulfilled every requirement of the Planning Department of Peterborough, and the application came to Council with a recommendation from city staff for approval.

<div>PATH filed this appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) in the belief that Council's decision was not in the best interests of our community or of the vulnerable individuals we serve.

<div>If more money is raised than what is needed for the appeal, any surplus will be directed straight into PATH’s general funds to support the ongoing operational costs of supporting those experiencing insecure housing in our community.
