Update:

Paisley had her puppies tonight (9/24). She had 2 girls and 1 boy. Everyone is doing good. I’m so happy that they’re here and they’re healthy.

Paisleys Rae is a five year old Shih Tzu who was bred and her puppies were sold for profit on an Amish farm. It was discovered that she may have a medical condition which would prevent them from selling her puppies. I have found homes for seven other dogs from this farm so when they called and asked me if I would take a pregnant Shih Tzu, I had to say yes.

I’m really not prepared to take on this expense. I just trapped three cats and had them fixed and vetted in the last several months. For years I have been rescuing cats and dogs. I took care of their medical needs on my own. I just can’t do this on my own this time.

Paisley was seen by my vet last week. She had an ultrasound and there’s at least four puppies.

Paisley had an X-ray yesterday (9/16). It appears that she is much farther along than we thought. She is due soon. She has milk, her temperature dropped, and she’s nesting. Dr. Kubala saw 3 puppies. She has been glued to me. I’m nervous. I’ve never been through this. Thank goodness my neighbor, Gabrielle, has been several times. She’s been so helpful. I will keep you posted. Her puppies will need a wellness visit, vaccines, and wormed. Paisley will need a dental and to get spayed.
