<div>Op donderdag werd mijn grootste nachtmerrie werkelijkheid: mijn lieve hond Pablo raakte ernstig gewond. Mijn hart doet zoveel pijn, ik ben kapot. Mijn baby, mijn maatje, lijdt.

<div>Ik was samen met mijn beste vriend Rob en Pablo aan het wandelen in Steenbergen. Rob lag even te rusten op een kleedje terwijl ik met Pablo verder liep. We kwamen bij een prachtig uitkijkpunt, en Pablo liep over een brug terwijl ik via een andere weg omhoog ging. Opeens raakte hij me kwijt en in paniek begon hij me te zoeken.

<div>Toen hij me boven zag staan, rende hij – zoals altijd bezorgd en lief – direct naar me toe, alsof hij wilde checken of de weg veilig was. Maar in zijn haast en paniek sprong hij over de rand… vier meter naar beneden.

<div>Het ging in een flits. Ik hoorde de klap. Mijn hart stopte. ik keek en rende naar beneden en vond hem daar – trillend, in shock, bebloed – in mijn armen. Beide voorpoten waren compleet gebroken. Hij keek me aan met pijn en vertrouwen tegelijk, en ik wist: hij vertrouwt erop dat ik hem help. Maar ik weet niet hoe.

<div>Pablo heeft nu een grote, dure operatie nodig gehad om zijn poten te redden. Ze hebben zo snel nu gedaan voor hem wat ze konden maar zonder deze operatie had hij nooit meer normaal kunnen lopen, of erger nog… Hij is pas 3 jaar. Hij is mijn alles. Mijn steun, mijn troost, mijn baby.

<div>Ik ben radeloos. De dierenartskosten zijn onbetaalbaar voor mij alleen, maar ik wil en móét alles doen om hem te redden.

<div>On Thursday, my worst nightmare became reality: my sweet dog Pablo got seriously injured. My heart is shattered. I’m broken. My baby, my best friend, is in pain.

<div>I was out for a walk in Steenbergen with my best friend Rob and my dog Pablo. Rob was resting peacefully on a blanket while I continued walking with Pablo. We reached a beautiful viewpoint—Pablo walked across a small bridge, while I chose a different path that led upward. Suddenly, he lost sight of me, and in panic, he began searching.

<div>When he finally saw me standing above him, he—always so caring and protective—immediately ran toward me as if to check if the path was safe. But in his panic, he made a heartbreaking mistake… he jumped over the edge—four meters down.

<div>It happened in a split second. I heard the terrible thud. My heart stopped. I ran down as fast as I could and found him—trembling, in shock, bleeding—lying in my arms. Both of his front legs were completely broken. He looked at me, full of pain but also full of trust, and in that moment I knew: he’s counting on me to help him. But I didn’t know how.

<div>Pablo needed an urgent, expensive surgery to save his legs. They did what they could for him as quickly as possible, but without this operation, he would never be able to walk normally again—or worse… He’s only 3 years old. He’s my everything. My support, my comfort, my baby.

<div>I’m desperate. The vet bills are far beyond what I can afford alone, but I have to do everything I can to save him.
