Help Phil Fight!

Hi Everyone,
First of all, thank you for taking the time to read this. I know you all have a lot going on in your life right now, so the time spent here is very much appreciated.
If you have not heard by now, then I'm sorry to say that our friend, Phil Owens, suffered a stroke at the end of April that has left him with limited mobility and speech, but he is working extremely hard in his rehab and is already showing great signs of improvement. The doctors do not know yet what caused the stroke, but they are working on figuring it out. Phil had spent since April 27th in the hospital and was just discharged on May 8th. He is now at a rehab center for at least the next couple of weeks on his road to recovery.
So, Phil needs our help.
The money raised with this campaign will go to help pay for Phil's hospital bills, rehab and other necessities so that Phil can focus on getting better. We're looking to raise at least $25,000 to help Phil with his medical expenses, but certainly hoping to surpass that number.
Those that are reading this will have different levels of interaction with Phil over the years...from knowing him in passing as OWLFAN86 on TigerDroppings, to having him run a successful campaign for you, or simply as the friend who would do anything for you and be the first person to step-up and ask how he could help if any of us were in his situation. Therefore, I plead with you to help Phil as much as you can right now, because he would help you...whether he knew you exceedingly well or in passing.
Phil will have a lengthy road to recovery, but these bills will not wait, so the sooner you can can help, the sooner we can help take this burden off Phil so he can focus on the task at hand. I know times are tough for a lot of people right now...maybe even you...but please donate what you can. Normally, I would say that if you are unable to donate at this time, then stop by and say hello but, unfortunately, due to COVID-19, Phil can't have visitors right now, and he's battling this alone.
So, Phil needs our help.
I've known Phil for over 16 years now. Some of you know him better than me, some of you don't. Some of you love Phil, some of you don't. But all of us have the opportunity right now to help one of the, truly, nicest people you would ever care to know. So, please, give what you can because every single dollar will help our friend more than you could ever know. Also, because if you're a fan of any school other than Rice, then you can hold it over him every baseball season for years to come.
