I am reaching out for help during a challenging time in my life. I am facing a mental health crisis due to PTSD (Schizophrenia) caused by traumatic experiences with racist police officers, homelessness, and lack of support from my family in Hawaii. Despite undergoing treatment for six years and being on the government housing waitlist, I continue to struggle with my mental health and vision loss. I have applied for Social Security disability, but the process is slow.
I hold a college degree but face difficulties with shelter, transportation, and symptoms of my mental illness that hinder my daily life. My struggles are exacerbated by past encounters with racist law enforcement officers, one of whom broke my jaw. My primary goal in starting this campaign is to improve my living situation.
Currently living in an off-grid area near the beach, my shelter was recently destroyed by a flood, resulting in the loss of essential belongings. I urgently need assistance to prevent further hardship and maintain my mental well-being and education. I am dedicated to my recovery and self-sufficiency, and I sincerely seek your support.
I have never had substance abuse issues but require treatment for anxiety, depression, and mood swings. Prior to my current situation, I managed to pay off my college tuition and was finacially stable. Your assistance will help me access medical appointments, a new tent, pay for storage fees for belongings held in storage and complete my renewable energy project. It will also help with the cost of materials to build energy storage batteries because the dangers of shipping a ready-built battery make it nearly impossible to receive one in Hawaii. I gratefully ask for your support in bringing positive change and relief to my current challenges. Thank you for considering helping me.
