Hey y'all! Adam Prairie here, the talent buyer at the Sunset Tavern. We hope you're doing all right since we saw you last at the Sunset!
Unfortunately, as you might imagine, times have been tough for all of us at the Sunset since we've had to shut down to help battle the spread of the coronavirus. Due to the unique nature of the music industry, a lot of our staff unfortunately doesn't qualify for unemployment protections and are really hurting due to this sudden loss of income. The really tough part is that we currently have no idea how long this is going to last; we're currently fully expecting to be closed through all of April, and it could be longer than that. There's also no guarantee we'll be able to open normally once it's safe enough for the ban to partially lift.
So that's why we're asking for your help right now! I'm sure one of our bartenders has made you a tasty drink, or one of our sound techs helped make a live show sound amazing for you, or one of our door staff has helped you as you entered a show. These folks definitely need your immediate support, and please know that 100% of the net earnings of your donation will go directly to them to help them cover their basic living costs while we wait this thing out.
