Help Our Volunteer First Responder Beat Cancer

Donation protected

I started this fundraiser for Aaron marshall and his family, they really need our help during this difficult time. Aaron is a volunteer first responder for our little town Tom Bean and has always put himself last. I have seen him get up in the middle of the night for a medical call or fire, then go to work the next morning, and would never hear him complain. Aaron works for the school district in our small town and jumped at the opportunity to help during the holidays for the past few years, he started volunteering to dress up as Santa for our small town's elementary school. Any opportunity to help someone out small or big he's there for anyone who needs it. Lavona and Aaron have 4 wonderful kids. They raised two of them 28-year- old Scottie and 23- year-old Skylar into amazing adults and still have two they are raising at home 13-year-old Colton and 12-year-old zachary. Just recently the marshall family moved due to the passing of a wonderful landlord. may she rest in peace. It caused a bit of a financial burden on them but they were okay and love their new place. Now a couple of years ago his wife Lavona (my daughter) was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver and will eventually need a transplant. This past year and the beginning of this year have been a little rough on them she has been in and out of the hospital. She just recently got out of the hospital due to problems with her liver. He has been by her side and there for the kids the entire time. Aaron had an annual doctor's appointment after his wife got out of the hospital. he has had a large bump on the side of his left ear for a couple of years, he had it checked a few times and was told it was just a cyst. Well recently he got a new doctor from the Dallas area and the doctor was concerned and decided to refer him to a specialist to get a biopsy done well if things weren't already hard enough for him his biopsy came back as adnexal carcinoma (cancer). The doctors said the cancer is rare and aggressive but they are hopeful they can get it all. He has some imaging on the 29th to find out if it has spread to his neck and lungs. The surgery on April 5th will require a bit of reconstruction of his face. They will be removing all of the left inner ear and closing off what's left of the ear. he will have other stuff removed but the worst of it is his hearing. Aaron loves what he does and He won't be able to do his job in the morning and afternoons as a school bus driver unless he gets an implant to help with hearing. The implant is very expensive and with all the living and medical expenses he's gonna need our help from those who can, All the donations and prayers would be greatly appreciated, God bless you for reading Aarons's story and please share it with others.
