KarmaGroup Lombok earthquake appeal

Indonesia has faced a challenging year, with a series of natural disasters affecting communities across the archipelago. In August the island of Lombok was rocked by a series of powerful earthquakes centered off the island's north, causing widespread devastation including landslides and leveling ten of thousands of homes. Sadly, the quakes also claimed more than 550 lives. 


Karma Group's Gili Islands resort, Karma Reef, located on the quiet Isle of Gili Meno, was affected by more than the interruption to guest services. Many of the resort's staff hail from northern Lombok and lost their homes, their communities and even people they loved. In the face of this unfolding disaster, the Karma family leapt into action, donating the staples of life to the communities affected as well as much needed funds to our staff, their families, and the Peduli Anak Foundation - a children's charity which had its orphanage severely damaged during the quakes.


Even now, the job is not done. Many members have asked us how they can help the people of Lombok and our staff recover and rebuild. That's why we're starting a GoFundMe campaign to help raise $70,000 to help our staff reconstruct their homes and help them to gain a renewed sense of hope and purpose. 


Karma Group will match every dollar donated to the campaign by our members, friends and guests. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to our staff.
