Help our Special Friends thrive-SAVE OUR POOL!

This swimming pool has been an excellent resource for our group home residents for many years, and we've had a lot of pool parties. People with intellectual and physical disabilities and their families and friends enjoyed swimming. But after years of use and abuse from the elements, we must consider a rebuild or remove it altogether. The choice SFF (Special Friends Foundation) will make concerning the pool depends primarily on its financial resources. Therefore, SFF is appealing to our community for additional financial help to address this. The interior surface, plumbing, and coping/concrete are all in poor condition, and the solar system to heat the pool does not work. SFF has sought input from pool contractors to consider various options and pricing. One option is a complete rebuild; another is a lower-cost option to repair only the worst sections of coping and resurface rather than replace the cement. A third option is to remove it and fill it in with dirt.

Special Friends Foundation residents, the staff, families and friends are all trying our best to SAVE OUR POOL so that we can enjoy it for years to come. This swimming pool not only gives residents exercise but also allows them to enjoy the outdoors, have fun with friends, keep cool during the hot summer months, and THRIVE.
