<div>We are raising funds on behalf of a dear sister in our community who is enduring an unimaginable medical hardship. When she first arrived in the United States, she was experiencing severe tonsil pain — a condition she had struggled with since childhood, after a traditional burning procedure in Africa caused lasting damage to her throat.

<div>In seeking medical care here, she underwent a surgery meant to help — but tragically, it made things far worse. The initial operation damaged her airway. After spending 10 days recovering at home, she suddenly found herself unable to breathe. A second doctor was called in, and in attempting to correct the damage, they made an incision on her neck/throat— which caused permanent injury to her voice box and surrounding structures. She was left barely able to breathe or eat, and her throat is now irreparably harmed.

<div>To this day, she survives with the help of feeding and breathing tubes. Her stomach has been punctured multiple times already and cannot withstand another procedure. Her throat is too fragile to handle the regular camera used for internal checks. Her greatest wish now is to regain at least one of the two essential functions — the ability to breathe or eat on her own.

<div>We are raising funds to help her pursue advanced medical care with specialists who may be able to give her that chance. Your donation will help cover:
