Help Our Owls
On December 20th, the Cowichan Valley was hit by a massive wind storm that caused significant damage to the beloved raptors centre. The Raptors is a bird of prey and falconry organization, dedicated to the conservation of birds of prey and to connect people with nature. We work with the most amazing animals, and feel so privileged every day to be around these birds.
An aviary that is home to a few of our barn owls (Milton, Nova and Comet) took the brunt of the damage with a tree falling right through it. Viola (Great Grey owl) also had her aviary destroyed by falling branches in the storm. In addition to the damaged aviaries, there are also many broken fences and hours worth of clean up and repairs. Thankfully, despite the crazy winds we were able to safely get all three barn owls and Viola out, but this leaves four of our beautiful owls displaced. I am looking for funds to help cover the cost to purchase some materials to help our owls get back into their homes as soon as possible. Any amount helps! Thank you.
