<div>Our beautiful mom, Susanne, has been dealing with life-altering health challenges for the past several years. She feels nauseous and exhausted most days, and she’s grown used to that just being how life is. She’s seen many doctors, but no one has been able to pinpoint exactly what’s going on.

<div>What we do know is that her oral health has been a persistent and worsening issue—and it’s become clear that it’s likely contributing to how unwell she feels overall.

<div>What started as a precaution during her double hip replacement––removing a few teeth due to infection risk—has since turned into an ongoing and deeply painful health issue. She’s been in and out of the dentist with what have ultimately been temporary fixes: bridges that haven’t lasted, infections that haven’t healed, and work that hasn’t addressed the underlying issues.

<div>Today, her oral health has progressed to a point where she is missing nearly all of her top teeth. She’s had a bridge in place, but it hasn’t fit well, doesn’t stay in securely, and hasn’t allowed her to eat comfortably or feel confident in her smile.

<div>Most recently, she met with an oral surgeon who confirmed that she still has an active infection in some of her top teeth… something that not only causes pain and discomfort but is likely playing a role in broader health issues she’s been dealing with. He also made clear what we’ve come to realize over the years: what we’ve tried so far isn’t working.

<div><strong>The recommendation is a full top-row restoration with implants</strong>––a permanent solution that would allow her to stop worrying about her teeth, eat comfortably again, and feel like herself. It would also finally address the infections and inflammation that have likely been impacting her health for years.

<div>The challenge: the cost of the procedure is $40,000, and because dental care isn’t covered by Medicare (and implants are considered “cosmetic”), our parents are unable to afford this.

<div>If you know our mom, you know she’s warm, funny, and full of light. She has one of those laughs that fills a room and the best smile. We’re asking for help because we believe she deserves to eat, speak, laugh, and smile again without pain or shame. This surgery would help restore her health, confidence, and quality of life.
