Kristin Pierson - Help our Mom Beat Bladder Cancer

Donation protected
As most of you know, our mom has been fighting bladder cancer.  She had been urinating blood and thought she just had a kidney infection or UTI but,  after a lot of tests, she was diagnosed with cancer in her bladder and ureter. On top of the cancer, she has now developed chronic kidney disease and anemia. She has been through so much already and now just completed two months of chemotherapy and is scheduled for another surgery on December 19th.

She has been through so much - surgeries, CAT scans, lab work and endless doctor appointments and she is understandably physically and emotionally tired. The insurance deductible is high, she has missed time off from work, the expenses and medical bills are piling up and she was humiliated last week when she was turned away from the blood/urine lab because she had a balance and couldn't pay it.  Cancer couldn't bring her down but this finally did.

If she’s not at work, which she misses only what she absolutely must out of necessity, she is going through multiple tests, surgeries, CAT scans. It’s hard to even find the right words to describe the inspiration her unimaginable strength, strength which I’ve only seen grow stronger in my 18 years, her courage, and her absolute benevolence has given me. My mother is my greatest idol and her love, care, and guidance has always been a cure all for any problem I’ve faced in my life. The day she told me about her diagnosis began the worst time of my life. I watched my mother go through just indescribable pain and stress, she was bedridden for awhile and yet through all of that she always managed to do something I found impossible at the time, every time I saw her she had the same beautiful smile on her face as always, joking and laughing more than anyone in the room. Our mom has always been a hard worker and she is so caring, selfless and sensitive to everyone else's needs.  She is the first to help a person or animal in need and she has had a hard life caring for our special needs sister.

My mom is the strongest person I know, absolutely unwavering in her positive energy despite all the negativity she’s dealt with in her life. And it hurts that I can’t help the person who has given me so much joy, literally everything I have. She is scheduled for another surgery December 19th, and needs to come up with $800 on top of previous bills from recent procedures. If you’re a friend of our stubborn ass family, you know we’re rarely the ones to ask for help. But please, my friends, with nowhere else to turn I ask you to help my mom beat bladder cancer. Please help by sharing this post on Facebook and with your friends and family, it means more than you know to mine. Donate however you can, anything helps her fight the financial burden and focus on getting through this while still supporting my younger sister. Thank you so much for your time, and I ask you to please keep her in your prayers. Thank you.
