Help Frank walk again - IVDD
Donation protected
Over the past two years, our dachshund Frank has had two surgeries due to herniated discs in his back. Unfortunately, the problem has returned, which will require another surgery. This will be the third and hopefully final surgery for our poor boy.
Little background of Frank. He is 6 years old and I rescued him from a house when he was about 8 weeks old. He was covered in flees and had worms. And he was overly skinny. was able to fix all of those issues and get him healthy. Years passed without an issue and then he had his first surgery for a herniated disc 3 days before Christmas in 2015. He recovered, then in May of 2016 he had to have the same surgery again.
On 8/28, his back legs stopped working. We rushed him 2 hours from South Bend to Fort Wayne to NIVES, the best surgeon in the area (Dr. Coolman). We are extremely hopeful that the same surgeon will be able to get Frank back on his feet again, and allow him to get back to his normal, pissy-self.
With our wedding right around the corner, the unexpected expense and stress of surgery has quickly put a damper on what has been an exciting time. Frank is such a great dog (aside from the pissy-ness) and we would never let him be in pain. We just want him better.
Thank you for visiting and reading this. We greatly appreciate everyone for helping Frank get on his feet again. Please keep him in your thoughts/prayers.
Once this is all over, and after the wedding has passed we would like to eventually give back to the hospital in a form of a donation so that someone else in the same position can save their baby.
Please check out this link to read more about IVDD. It's a great website with a lot of information pertaining his condition.
