I will start off by introducing myself and my family... My name is Laura, my fiance's name is Jason, our kids names are Jayela and Izaiah. To start this wonderful adventure in life, it all kicked off almost 10 years ago now... Jason(Fiance) and I met at Lowes, my place of employment and he is a local contractor. We started dating, and a short time passed as two small children came into play, they were 11 & 6. Yes they are my step children, when their father and I first started dating they would stay with us full time for a short period of time as there mother was going through a rough time in life. Gave us all time to grow with one another, it was amazing considering I am not able to have children on my own. Time goes by, almost tens years some things have changed yes. Something major for the kids is that their grandpa (mothers side) passed away. It made a major impact on them both, as they have pretty much lived with their grandpa because their mother never had a place of her own, no need really as their grandpa was alone, and very well off, so they never needed or wanted for anything. They would be with us all summer and some days of the week, weekends, basketball , etc...That being said it has always been a difficult time for their dad, trying to match up to that of their grandpa the best he could, but we have always been on our own with no help from anyone. He is an amazing dad to those 2 wonderful kids. We have recently fell on hard times with everything going on in this world. Him being a contractor he always told me in this business that its feast or famine and I never understood that until now. He is such a good provider, and partner. To explain a little, I myself was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis 6 years ago. It has been aggressively attacking my immune system and my joints have suffered severely. I have had a double wrist surgery with rods implanted, a right foot shattered and reconstructed, a double titanium knee replacement, a left hip replacement, and now have a left hand that dramatically turning outwards at about 65° right now. Its hard for me to stand for long periods of time or hold anything really, so me working myself hasn't been an option or I would be all in. He has been right by my side through it all. Our insurance lapsed over a year ago, and honestly just can't afford insurance out right. I am in pain throughout a lot of the day and God helps me make every day count.we were recently working for a gentleman that owned various properties and Jason would do the maintenance work on all of them, for discounted rent. However that came to an end and he is ridding himself of properties as he says its just to much anymore so he has decided to sell. We are currently together staying in an Air B&B doing some side work at the property for rent. It hurt so much that last week our son had an argument with his mother and packed up to stay with us for the night, and we didnt know how to tell him that we dont live there anymore and we are in a single room. :( worst feeling ever. ... If you find it in your heart to help in any way. We are so much more than grateful in every way. All things considered we still try to smile through every day. Thank you. Bless you all, and stay safe.
