Help our kids grieve through sport

Donation protected
I am seeking to raise money to support my children through their grieving process after very suddenly losing their father.

Both my daughter Roshy aged 11 and Theo aged 8 discovered their passion and talent for tennis just a year ago when it was suggested to me as a possible therapy for my son Theo who is on the Autistic Spectrum and finds school a very stressful experience that would lead to multiple meltdowns daily. In the first instance, we began tennis simply as a means to help Theo express his stress and frustrations in a safer and more productive fashion than breaking things at home! His sister joined in to keep him company and within a few months it became clear that not only was tennis helping to significantly reduce the number and intensity of Theo's meltdowns, but that both children had a real talent for the sport.

We are very fortunate to have a tennis court and fantastic coaches 5 minutes from our home and so both kids spend almost every day enthusiastically playing tennis and helping teach children younger than themselves the 'perfect technique'. Part of the appeal of the sport was because it connected them with their Dad- he had played when he was young and displayed a talent for the sport. Now that he has suddenly, heartbreakingly died they feel like whenever they play they are playing 'for him' and continuing his legacy.

Playing sport intensively is a positive therapeutic technique to support them in their grieving process- exercise releasing endorphins to offset their intense sadness and sense of loss, helping them to keep fit in the fresh air whatever the season, and most importantly staying true to their own dreams of playing tennis at a professional level.

Playing sport at this level is sadly very expensive - private lessons for each child, plus group lessons and then strength and conditioning classes cost over £1000 per month. With the loss of their father we are struggling to meet these costs. If anyone would like to assist my two beloved children stay true to their sporting dreams during an incredibly difficult time mourning for their father, we would be immensely grateful.

Please help if you feel able- any contribution, however small, shall help to fulfil their dreams and help them heal.

Any monies received will go solely to pay their coaches for lessons each week and to take them to play tournaments. This support would relieve some of the financial burden that now lies heavily upon me and lift my spirits in a time of my own grieving, and most importantly help me to keep my two children's dreams alive.
