Help our Feline Rescue Society build a Shelter

Hello fellow cat lovers, my name is Kimberly, and recently I was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of starting up a Cat Rescue Organization! With the help of some amazing, dedicated fellow citizens & volunteers, I have been able to grow from a 'one woman show' operating out of a 25ft RV I bought to house stray kitties before transferring them to various Rescue Organizations throughout the Kootenay-Boundary & Okanagan areas, to being a registered non-profit society, with 30+ volunteers, operating a very busy (albeit temporary) shelter location out of a house leased to us by the City of Grand Forks. Since our incorporation in December 2020, we have rescued over 100 cats & kittens, from a variety of less-than-ideal living situations (ie: hoarding situations of 30+ cats in one home, abandon pets, feral cats, etc...) and have successfully adopted out 42 kitties and counting!

Sadly, the building housing our current Shelter location is set for demolition in the near future, and our request for an extension to our lease has been denied. This has left us in a very desperate position, as we urgently search for a new, and hopefully permanent, location for our current 38 cat & kitten residents, and the many more to come in the future. Currently, we have been operating entirely on the generosity of the wonderful citizens & small businesses within our area, while we await our Charity Status from the Canada Revenue Agency, and continue to apply for grant funding. At this time, I am humbly reaching out to the rest of the cat-loving population, in hopes of raising enough funds to purchase our very own structure, and secure the future success of the Boundary Helping Hands Feline Rescue Society, and the many little lives we will change for the better, in the years to come.
