As the operation unfolded, the lights flickered and died, leaving us to welcome her into darkness, illuminated only by faint, flickering lights. Days later, still frail from the ordeal, I guided my three children through a harrowing path, threading through the rubble and remnants of shattered lives, dodging gunfire and the relentless barrage of shells, all in a desperate quest for safety in the southern reaches. Yet, even there, tranquility proved fleeting as the echoes of war reverberated ceaselessly.
