Help Our Christmas Miracle, Honey, Recover

Our sweet girl, Honey was struck by a car and spent two days cold and alone in the woods with a badly broken leg. With the help of online friends and our community, we were able to find her in time to save her life which was an absolute miracle. She will need a plate put in her leg to save it, or it will have to be amputated. The cost of the surgery for the plate is between $1700 and $2500. The amputation will be around $700.

Finding Honey was a Christmas miracle for us. She became a part of our family in May during a sad, difficult time, and she has brought us such comfort and joy. We believe she may be the most amazing dog in the entire world, but most certainly is the smartest and sweetest! She remains in good spirits even with the pain that she is in.

Honey got out of the fence while our family was at our daughter’s graduation. She was spotted at the park where we take her on walks which makes me think she was looking for us. Honey was hit by the car on December 15th, and it broke all three bones below her elbow and then she retreated into the woods until we found her there two days later. Honey is eight months old, and of course, it would be preferable to save her leg.
