Help Our Charlene with Recovery Costs

On March 18th  my sister Charlene took a fall off her electric wheelchair while in Akumal ,Mexico. She spent a week in the hospital in Mexico. She suffered a broken clavicle , a break in the hip pelvic area, and a brain bleed in two places. She had to be flown home by air ambulance to her family in Las Vegas ,Nevada.

That took all of her life savings. She has been in five different facilities over the past two months ,one of which made her  brain bleed much more severe. We were  told this was due to medication she should not have been given and it put her in ICU. Her mental and physical state have been severely compromised as many of her friends who have talked to her have sadly realized. The doctors say this should improve over time. 

Her insurance has run out and she is moving into a group home which will cost $2,700 a month, as she continues to  require 24/7 care. Our goal is through therapy to get her back to where she was, independent and getting around on her electric wheelchair. Our visitation has been limited in some facilities which has been hard on all of us. Charlene has been very sad and lonely so we are very excited about the new place where we can visit her often.  The neurologist said it is crucial to her recovery.  Also crucial is her contact with friends by phone. Although she is hard of hearing, she really appreciates calls!
