Help our 501c3 Get Memories to Kids With Deceased Parents
Hi! I'm Bob DiPasquale and I've taken it upon myself to be a voice for kids that have experienced the death of a parent. Since I lost my dad when I was 3, and my mom when I was 10, I can tell you that one of the most overlooked side effects of that is wonder. Most of us will spend the rest of our lives wondering what they were like. And so, I founded Memories For Surviving Kids with a mission to help kids get to know their deceased parents. In June of this year, I attended the Texas Funeral Home Directors Association annual convention. I was able to connect with 13 funeral homes, giving them our free kits. Once interested surviving parents or guardians approve, these kits act to distribute our brochures to visiting hour attendees. The brochures explain how the attendees can go about writing letters sharing their memories of the deceased for when the children start to wonder.
We're not stopping our outreach here in Texas. We plan to attend the National Funeral Home Directors Association Expo in New Orleans from Oct 20 - 23rd. We could sure use some help funding the trip and stocking up on kits to give away. If not, out of my pocket it will come! Please check out our website at MFSK.org, and please, PLEASE, lend us a hand!
