Help Others Rebuild in the Algarve

Families like Jurga's recently lost everything in a fire that has devastated south western Portugal. They along with 11 of my neighbors will need help in recovering from the loss of their homes and belongings.

Fortunately my home is still standing but I could use some assistance in helping others to rebuild their lives.

WHAT IS NEEDED

My plan is as follows (with estimated costs)

1) facilitate housing and food/water for volunteer workers to come and help folks rebuild their homes. Some money will be needed as well for tents, sun sails (as trees are gone and it's summer), pillows, linens, soap, laundromat, etc. I hope to host up to 10 volunteers at any given time. Cost: €2400 over 2 months is €300/week

2.a) This step is no longer needed as I and a few other locals are funding this ourselves. Rebuild communal infrastructure - primarily the solar wifi tower used by a large portion of the community. Without this it is unsafe for anyone to move back as we all learned of the fire via online communication. Cost: €2000 (panels, charge regulators, inverters, batteries, cabling, routers, transmitters and receivers for those with homes that still stand even)

2.b) tools as needed for 2.a and 3 below Cost: €1000 (generators, drills, axes, shovels, safety gear, etc.)

3) rebuild individual homes for those who chose to start over again - evenly distributed - with all the lessons learned from this past fired. My home survived largely due to the thorough clearing around my structures. Cost: €30,000 is €3,000 per family for raw building materials, appliances, clothes, etc. (this will not cover everything for everyone so trying to find a reasonable yet significant amount).

4) simply give to those who perhaps do not chose to rebuild - evenly distributed alongside #3 Cost: included in #3 above

Any funds raised would be used in this descending order. So if €300 is not needed for the week for food/water the remainder will be used for 2.a, then 2.b, and so on.

WHEN 

The ashes are still smoldering and as soon as it is safe to re-enter the affected region we would like to start getting folks back to their normal lives. The land border between Portugal and Spain opens July 1 and flights are already allowed into the country from most if not all Schengen/EU countries. With that said, ambitiously it would be ideal to have this campaign closed out by July 1.
