Help Oscar Support Vintage Racers for Rescue!
Tax deductible
Hello everyone!
I'd like to raise money for Vintage Racers for Rescue, a non-profit based near VIRginia International Raceway created by Robyn and Dave Handy that has placed nearly 2,000 pets with loving homes.
One of those lucky pets is Oscar, who I adopted from VRR in June 2022. Dave and Robyn were kind enough to deliver him to Indianapolis by motorhome when they traveled to the annual SVRA meeting at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (something they frequently do for friends in the racing community). Two months later when I covered the IMSA races at VIR, my son and I took Oscar with us to get him neutered at his 'home' vet in Danville, VA. That little kitten was an unbelievably great travel companion!
We would like to reprise our '22 VIR road trip with Oscar in late August for his annual checkup. And we're going to do it for a good cause...we're asking you to donate to VRR in a unique way. Simply make a per-mile pledge for our journey, which I expect to cover around 1,500 miles round trip. That means a penny per mile donation would come out to approximately $15, a nickel per mile = ~$75. I imagine that flat-fee donations can also be accepted.
Robyn and Dave are truly selfless and do wonderful work. Anyone who has adopted a rescue understands the special satisfaction that comes from saving a deserving pet. Please consider making a donation to VRR and follow Oscar, Patrick, and me on our latest adventure!
