Help Orlando Title 1 School Kids have a Merry Xmas

We recently moved to Central Florida and I was looking for a way to help a family in need in our new community for the holiday season.

A simple Facebook post asking my neighbors where to “adopt a family” or donate toys this holiday season lead to multiple teachers from local Title 1 schools reaching out for help for their students and families.

The pandemic is hitting everyone hard but Central FL is suffering the loss of many hourly jobs as tourism has plummeted and we have had unprecedented lay offs in the hospitality industry, which obvious impacts many of our local families. Also, I know nationally there has been a concern about how school shut downs affect kids in lower income families, so wouldn’t it be great if we could help these families and kids have a merry holiday?

What I love about this idea is that it’s personal! Teachers and counselors are helping us find kids and families and they know these kids! I’m not just buying a Barbiefor a 7 year old girl, but I’m buying a soccer skipper doll for Lucy who loves sports (because her teachers know that!)

Phillip and I will match every dollar donated by our friends. We want to help all theteachers who reached out!

Thanks for considering our cause!

Merry Everything!
