Help Open Minors' Home for Trafficking Victims!

Dear Fathers, Brothers, & Sisters in Christ,

As many of you know, we at Children of the Immaculate Heart have been quite busy as we've gotten much closer to reaching our goal of finally opening the Refuge, our home for teenage survivors of sex trafficking! We have been working with women over the age of 18 coming out of "the life" for the past 6 years and we are so happy to be able to serve youth now too. The girls coming to The Refuge will be placed by Child Welfare Services and Probation and will receive educational, residential, and therapeutic services while in our care.

It is a true joy to be at our last step before we officially open and begin receiving our first clients into our Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program licensed by the California Department of Social Services. As you come across this campaign, we've already begun our first week of staff training! Our administrators Grace Williams, Amy Sorensen, Tatiana Rosenborg and our therapist Lyss de la Torre, will be training our new Refuge Staff: teachers, night/day caregivers, and a case manager. Training will establish a professional foundation for the staff to bring spiritual/psychological healing to these girls! We are very proud of the women who have just joined our team to carry out our long-held dream that is now becoming a reality.

These next two weeks will include training and courses in: trauma-informed care, emergency medical assistance, recreational activities, house discipline, and much more! Doubling the size of our staff and training them will total cost CIH $20,000.
