<div>In de afgelopen jaren groeit het ijsklimmen als wedstrijdsport in Nederland. Onze Nederlandse topatleten Marianne v.d. Steen en Dennis van Hoek in het Nederlands ijsklimteam hebben mooie resultaten geboekt, beiden zijn tienvoudig Nederlands kampioen en hebben mooie internationale resultaten geboekt. Marianne is in het afgelopen seizoen bijvoorbeeld overall nummer 3 wereldwijd geworden (en tweede op 1 van de worldcups) en Dennis heeft al eens een worldcup gewonnen! <strong><em>Komend seizoen vertegenwoordigen zij weer graag Nederland op de worldcups.</em></strong>

<div>In de afgelopen jaren is er ook een jeugdgroep ontstaan die ondertussen als eerste leden in het nieuw opgerichte Nederlands jeugdteam (jong oranje) zijn opgenomen. Ook zij hebben al mooie resultaten geboekt in de internationale ijsklimcompetities, zoals 2 maal op rij een gouden medaille op de wereld jeugdkampioenschappen en meerdere (overall) Europese medailles. <strong><em>Komend seizoen willen zij als Nederlands jeugdteam deelnemen aan continental cups (Europees) en het World Youth Championship!</em></strong>

<div>Eind dit jaar of begin volgend jaar wordt duidelijk of de sport in 2030 olympisch wordt! We hopen dat daar een enthousiaste Nederlandse delegatie kan staan.

<div>Het ijsklimmen is nog een betrekkelijk kleine sport in Nederland, dit zorgt ervoor dat er nog maar beperkte financiële middelen voor de sporters zijn. De reis- en verblijfskosten maar deels ook de trainingskosten moeten ze zelf bij elkaar zien te sprokkelen. Het reizen naar internationale wedstrijden en onderhouden van trainingslocaties is duur. Als IceclimbingNL willen we zowel het Nederlands team, het Nederlands jeugdteam als de subtop daaronder, ondersteunen om naar de wedstrijden te kunnen gaan maar ook om de trainingslocatie op niveau te kunnen houden.

<div>De komende periode (voor november 2025) richten we formeel de stichting IceclimbingNL op. Als stichting zoeken we financiën middels crowdfunding, sponsoren, subsidies en donateurs om hiermee de sporters te ondersteunen. Het geld dat we met deze crowdfunding inzamelen, zetten we in om het aanstaande seizoen de sporters al te kunnen helpen om deel te kunnen nemen aan de wedstrijden. Het helpt om een vliegende start te kunnen maken!
