Fundraising concert for Olympias Music Foundation

Forsyths and Olympias Music Foundation  (OMF) are proud to present:

 

'About Time' - a recital by pianist Victor Lim, at Forsyths Music Shop, Friday 16th February, 6.30pm-7.30pm.

All proceeds from the concert will help the OMF provide 85 children from disadvantaged backgrounds with a free instrument and weekly music lessons, as part of their 'Learn to Play' programme.

 

Olympias Music Foundation is an award-winning music charity based in Longsight, Manchester, and champion diversity in music. From instrumental lessons for children on free-school meals, to community choirs for vulnerable BAME women and school children, OMF are driven by the belief that everyone should be given the opportunity to participate in music. Since 2015, they have delivered over 9800 music lessons to 250 children in Manchester, engaging hundreds more through workshops and performances.

 

Forsyths have been at the heart of music in Manchester since 1857, and are the largest independent music shop in the UK with over 15,000 sq ft of showrooms and workshops in their city centre shop. They are committed to finding the right instrument for all musicians of any standard, providing a comprehensive repairing service, and housing an extensive sheet music library in-store and online.

 

Described as a pianist with ‘with great possibilities of nuance and perfect flexibility’ (Revista Arta), South Korean-British pianist Victor Lim is establishing himself as one of the most versatile and creative musicians of his generation. Following his first public appearance in the televised BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2012, Victor has performed around the world in the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Romania, China, Singapore and South Korea. Victor is a City Music Foundation Artist, Making Music UK’s Philip and Dorothy Green Young Artist and the winner of the 2021 RNCM Gold Medal.
