Hi everyone,
Last week our niece, Olivia Arnhold, experienced a devastating loss, when everything she owned was stolen from her. We are hoping to gain support from friends, family, and other caring individuals to help her rebuild.
Just a few weeks ago, we celebrated her graduation from college in Oregon. This was a very exciting time as she prepared to officially launch into adulthood.
A week and a half ago, my sister Niki (Olivia's mom) flew to Oregon to move Olivia to Arizona to be closer to family. They packed up everything Olivia owned into Olivia's car, including shoes, clothes, jewelry, her guitar, her mountain bike, art supplies, her passport and other important papers, and irreplaceable mementos from her trips abroad and from family members who have passed on. Literally everything she owned was packed into that car.
It's a three-day trek from Oregon to Arizona when driving, so at the first hotel, they paid extra to park her car in a gated parking lot with security cameras and a live security guard patrolling the lot. But it turns out that wasn't secure enough. Overnight, someone scaled the gate right after the guard had passed by, broke her car window, opened the gate from the inside, and stole her car along with all of Olivia's belongings.
Fortunately, the police were able to recover her vehicle and the thief has been arrested, but not before they disposed of all of her belongings. Olivia is estimating the loss of her belongings to be in excess of $6000. Olivia's dad (Jordan) and grandparents are having her vehicle transported to her, but it's not known yet if there is more damage than the broken window that she will need to pay for.
Graduating from college is usually the start of the next chapter in any young adult's life, but they don't usually start over again with a completely clean slate like this. Please join me in supporting Olivia by helping to raise money so she can pay to repair her car window, buy clothes, shoes, and other items needed as she begins to bring some normalcy back into her life. Your contribution, no matter how small or big, is greatly appreciated. Please let us know if you have any questions.
