Help Oliver the crime fighting dog!

The Cerna family, and Oliver (the family dog), need our help!  This past Saturday morning, three individuals broke into the Cerna home just before 6 am, greeted by a barking Oliver.  One of them  tried to silence him by stabbing him multiple times and throwing him into the pool.  The Cerna family was awake in the front of the house, preparing to volunteer as a family with the "Welcome to America Project", when their day took a real turn.  Hearing the commotion, Salvador and Terri raced to the back of the house, finding Oliver in the pool and were able to get a description of the inturders before taking Oliver to the emergency animal hospital.

The suspects are in custody, 2 juvenilles and one 18 yr. old, and are facing multiple charges, including animal cruelty!

Oliver came home today after 2 1/2 days in the ICU, $4935.86 in bills from two animal hospitals, 4 prescriptions and he will have staples out in two weeks, along with follow up x-rays.

Anyone with animals they love can put themselves in this situation and it's hard to put a price on caring!  The Cerna family had set aside Saturday  as a day for their family to help others, now it's time help them!

All funds raised will help to offset the tremendous expense with Oliver's care.  His barking kept the burglars in the back of the house and they never got past the family room.  Oliver is 12 years old and an absolute hero!
