Hi, we are the Cross Family, and we are fundraising for Olga & Sophia, who have left their entire life behind fleeing from the war in Ukraine. Olga & Sophia have come to live with us and join our family, while her husband and 22-year-old son had to stay in Ukraine and fight the war to protect their Country. Their story is absolutely heartbreaking! What they have gone through and the stress they continue to endure, knowing her husband and son are separated and live in bunks in an underground, 3-meter hand-dug bomb shelter where they have no idea of their exact location or if they remain safe at all times. Could you imagine your family going through this?

We have decided to set up this page to allow Olga and her family to build a life here in Canada. Olga and Sophia arrived at our home on May 6th from amazing people who helped get them to safety, and we are forever grateful for it! Our goal is to spend the next 3-6 months helping Olga and Sophia get settled in Canada, learn our language, culture and lifestyle, set Shopia up in school and make friends. With this fundraiser, 100% of the funds will go directly to their family to get them started with all the basics (clothing, hygiene products, school supplies, etc.), then begin obtaining everything else they need, such as beds, dressers, furniture, security deposits and the list goes on. This family came with only a few suite cases and would be BEYOND grateful for any assistance you could help with!
