My life changed suddenly in December 2024 when I was diagnosed with a staghorn kidney stone. After months of pain and uncertainty, I underwent surgery in February 2025. The recovery has been tough, and I haven’t been able to work for much of this time. Medical bills have piled up, and they keep coming as I continue with monthly follow-up appointments and testing to prevent future kidney stones. Each visit means another co-pay, and the stress of keeping up with these costs has been overwhelming.
I recently started training at IHOP, but I’m only earning a small hourly wage of $2.13 while shadowing, and I haven’t been able to receive tips yet. This limited income makes it nearly impossible to catch up on the debt from my surgery and ongoing care. I’m worried about these bills going to collections, which would make things even harder for me and my family. On top of medical expenses, I’m also struggling to pay for my daughter’s band fees, which are important to her and our family’s sense of normalcy.
Support from this fundraiser would mean I could pay off my medical debt before it affects my credit, continue attending the appointments I need to stay healthy, and help my daughter stay involved in her school activities. Your help would allow me to focus on my recovery and training, without the constant worry about bills and expenses.
