Help Offset Charlie's Surgery Costs
Donation protected
Hi our names are Helen and Matt and we are fundraising for our dog Charlie. He injured his knee this last fall and in order for him to keep doing his favorite things (running, hiking, playing) he needed surgery. Charlie is a 7 year old Australian and English Shepherd mix. He has been the light of our lives and has even inspired Helen to study to work with dogs professionally. He is a goofy, cuddly, guy who would prefer to have our undivided attention all day long.
Helen got him when he was a puppy when she was 19. They have gone on many adventures and made many friends (people and dog) over the years. When Charlie was 4, Helen introduced him to Matt and it was love at first sight. Since then they have been a family of three.
Helen has narcolepsy, and before she found the right treatment day to day life was hard. Charlie encouraged her to get out during the day for exercise. Charlie makes every day better and when we're happy, he's happy. When we're sad, he comes running to snuggle up and remind us that everything is going to be okay.
Charlie has done so much for our quality of life, we of course wanted to make sure we maintained his. He went in for TPLO surgery for his cranial cruciate ligament (similar to an ACL) on December 9th. It costs $4,525.43 which is a lot of money! We are looking for help to offset that huge bill. We understand people are still recovering financially from the past year, and we are rolling into holiday season, but anything you can give we would greatly appreciate!
He's now home and resting while his knee heals. We are so excited to take him out on the trails again once he has recovered!
